Safe Workouts to Soothe Migraine

February 17, 2022

Some of you may experience migraine. Migraine is a pain that you feel on one of the sides of your head. This type of headache can bother and interfere with your daily activities. Instead of relying on medicines, there are some sports that are proven to be safe and can soothe your migraines. Check this out!

1. Yoga dan Pilates

Most of the time, migraine will strike when someone feels stressed and tired. Yoga and pilates are proven to be the suggested exercises by the experts when you feel tired and stressed. These exercises will help you relax your body and mind. When you feel more relaxed, your body will automatically release the stress. Yoga and pilates are also good to stretch your spine and neck so that your head will be at ease.

2. Light Cardio

If you’re not really into yoga and pilates, you can choose another light cardio such as walking around your house. It will also relax your body and relieve stress on your head.

3. Muscle Activation Exercise

Strength training is not only for those who want to increase muscles. Turns out that strength training can also be done to treat migraines because the muscles in the neck, back, and shoulders become more trained. When doing strength training, you also practice breathing so that your body gets enough oxygen and migraines are reduced.

4. Breathing Exercise

Sit relaxed in a straight spine position, puff out your chest and inhale. Inhale through your nose as deeply as possible, fill your lung with oxygen, hold for 1-2 seconds and exhale slowly through your mouth. Do this exercise for 3-5 minutes so that your body is relaxed and well oxygenated. Try to do this exercise in the open air. It is highly recommended to do it in the early morning.

It's time for you to stop depending on medicine when a migraine strikes. Instead, switch your lifestyle and make these sports your routine. In addition to getting your head healthy, of course, a little more exercise can also affect your body so that you become healthier overall.
