April 30, 2021

By Tommy Gultom

When exercising, of course, we intend to be healthier, but an excessive portion of the exercise will have a negative impact on fitness and health in general. Then what are the signs when you are over-exercising?

1.Physical signs

When exercising excessively, our bodies respond by giving signals that we can see and feel. Therefore, you need to be more sensitive to handle the condition of your body when something strange happens. The following are physical signs of excess exercise:

  • Decreased performance during training
  • Movement coordination is impaired
  • It took a long time to recover
  • The resting heart rate in the morning increases
  • Resting heart rate increases
  • Headache
  • Loss of appetite
  • Excessive muscle stiffness/pain
  • Indigestion
  • Decreased ability to fight infection
  • Increased chance of muscle injury
  • Sleep pattern disturbances occur
  • Psychic signs

Apart from physical signs, excess exercise creates psychological imbalances. This may be caused by other things that promote behavior change, but the following symptoms result from extra training in some conditions.

  • Depression
  • Decreased motivation
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Emotional
  • Decreased self-confidence

If you already feel the following signs, then you need to pay more attention to whether you have been exercising according to the portion or not. Being healthy is one way of exercising, but you don't need to force it to continue to achieve your goals if it turns out to be a burden for your body.

Give your body enough rest time, both to restore condition, or muscle damage that occurs during exercise. Don't hesitate to consult regularly with your personal trainers so that you know the appropriate portion of your exercise, this is one way to avoid overtraining.

Happy practicing.
